The Hub Community Centre opened in the autumn 2002. The Hub is situated in the Salvation Army building in the corner of Canada Grove and Queensway. The building was completely refurbished that year and the new existing facilities include a high standard kitchen, multimedia and full access for disabled people. In our Community Centre many organizations work together to help people in our community to greater health of body, mind and soul. We have programmes to support single or young parents and increase their parenting skills, Parents and Toddlers Group with free access to use a lot of toys and a friendly and safe place for parents to meet others in the same position. We have Fellowship for elderly people, and programmes for people with mental health problems. There are also Drop-In sessions for people worried about drug problems, domestic violence and parenting problems. Pensioners can get help with their economical questions. During the week there are also many programmes for children. We think The Hub Community Centre now is a place for everyone and has a place for everyone. There are lots of opportunities for people to meet, to chat and to resolve some of life’s questions and problems. There are professionals and volunteers willing to listen to people and to help them to greater health of body, mind and soul. Feel free to come along and join us in our Community Centre! |
